And the only thing the jetty project and this drain project on the way to Jomtien have in common , is about 6 months. IMG_20220404_123640.thumb.jpg.d6c211087032f800ff4f0ee91ac98117.jpg<

Do you know if a clear route is being built to walk from Pattaya Beach to Wongamat Beach? It must be 10 years since that was possible before it was washed away over time.

Yes, being forced the long way around by the Dusit Security is a memory I have from the good old days.

I would not expect that from this mess of a project. Again all that is required for an effective jetty are full size boulders. This jetty mess sandwich of: a pile of rocks so small that wire mesh had to cover them. Then part two with this sand/epoxy resin mixture. Then more boulders and gravel on top/the side. All these many layers will shift and separate eventually. Looks also like they are getting paid by the week.

I remember walking around that point.  It was a nice view.  Then on some later trips, the walkway was kind of there, but the stairs had fallen so one had to scramble up the rocks and wood debris to get to the walkway.  Then a trip or two later, there was nothing to walk on

Here is your new around the point. This jetty is a massive 3 or 4 times the amount of material necessary for the job. Again just full size boulders are quite enough. It used to  be a good walk around the point. The city and TAT go on and on about the visitors they want but can't stop screwing up the environment. With all that material wasted could have made a walkway around point. IMG_20220430_130015.thumb.jpg.144b4d456a0497b4cd5d590a156d4f17.jpgIMG_20220430_130027.thumb.jpg.13d5930acef4b1ff0e29f1ffa2f09447.jpg[

Dusit Thani should build a walkway. Their land grab is the source of the problem. Fat chance, I should think.

Exactly... I was always of an impression the beach areas were not available to be acquired, yet they have owned that corner, and some beach for decades.

This is all an effective jetty has to be composed of. The massive structure they have out there is ridiculous. All that very unnecessary construction could have been diverted to a walk around path connecting the beaches. I'm sure the city or Dusit could build a walkway. And it has to be made of timber so it does not collapse like the last city made concrete walkway did.Screenshot_2022-05-01-06-39-15-19.thumb.jpg.2a450404d51adaa324dabba0590e425c.jpg

Timber has limited lifespan here too, thinking of the timber walkways at the other end of Pattaya Beach. (And maybe the one that dumped people into the sea on Koh Larn).

You referring to 2" by 4"s walkways at South end  and in front of Modern dept store. Of course they don't last.  I'm referring to heavy timber for this. Or if it's done right (solid from top to base.) Either way it has to be done right. Something that doesn't happen around here. What happened to the folks who made this one?? IMG_20210916_134747.thumb.jpg.9d87ba7d387d1d4bb8edc4a5560f2d1a.jpg
