More problems with M-Flow

Recommended Posts

I've posted before about registration problems during the payment channel selection. Although the M-Flow website states that a credit card, debit card, or link to a M-Pass account can be used. Apparently foreigners cannot use these payment channels.

Then I called the contact center and received a cue number of 60 waited 5 minutes and it finally went down to 59. I waited a week and tried the call center again and received a cue number of 2 in English. Waited 5 minutes and the call was disconnected by the call center.

I called back and received a cue number of 20 in Thai language and waited 40 minutes until it was at number 1. I then waited another 70 minutes at cue number 1 (on speaker) before I cancelled the call.

I suspect that it took 40 minutes for others to get frustrated and cancel their calls so I could get to number 1 in the cue.

I watched a M-Flow video on Youtube which was in Thai language so I couldn't really understand. But they did show about 10 operators at the call center. After all the hurdles an expat has to cross over and all the regulations we have to "grin and bear" this getting through this M-Flow mess has been the most frustrating.

Foreigners can only link to a credit card. It's ridiculous but there you go. Actually the restriction is that it requires a Thai ID number starting with either 1 or 3 (people born in Thailand) to use any other payment channel. I went in to the M-Flow office at the motorway services on Route 7 armed with my Easy Pass and Thai ID ... no joy, because I'm a naturalised Thai, not born Thai.

Thanks for your comments. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one with M-Flow problems. I went to Krungthai Bank and showed them the notice about which payment channels to link and they told me that the M-Flow is a different system. No joy. I don't know why they put that credit card payment channel at the end of registration, when they know it's no go. There was a poster that had a link to nouserpayent site. I put in my vehicle details and it reponded with "no outstanding notices" which was true since I haven't dare go into the M-Flow. I'm going to Nakorn Sawan from Pattaya this weekend and I'll try the M-Flow lanes on the way back and see what happens. https://mflowthai.com/mflow/unuserpayment

A lot of Thais are having problems with registration, let alone foreigners.

My English friend has used it a couple of times without being registered.  Allow an hour or two for M-Flow to record you usage and then go to the 'nouser' payment URL within the next 2 days.

Enter plate number and province. It will show charges and give QR code payment option or card payment option. Since you are not registered it doesn't know if you are Thai or foreign.

Can a foreign credit card be used for a nouserpayment? How does the QR payment work? Is it linked to a bank account or a debit card? When I tried to register I tried to us my Visa and Mastercard. I received to attached messages. I call the bank that issued both my cards and they stated that my Visa was Verified by Visa enabled and that my mastercard was 3D (secured code) enabled. Screen Shot 2565-04-17 Visa card.pdfScreen Shot 2565-04-16 Mastercard.pdf

Used it last night, couldn't pay with our Thai credit cards, could pay with QR code.

Bit of a faff with the car details page, took a few goes to get the correct information in.

Stopped at the office on the way home - they checked, payment had gone through, but registration requires a blue book, which is on its way. If they allow unregistered cars to continue to pay after going through, I will just do that.

I had planned not to use it, but with 20 minute queues at the toll gates, it made so much more sense.

QR (Quick Response) code was invented in 1994 by Denso. It is like a two dimensional barcode and it links to the payee's bank account. It contains the necessary payment information to make payment to their account.
