Sanook Thai Caption: Dart pierces head

Sanook reported on the case of a woman who was taken to Nong Phai hospital (in Khon Kaen) with a dart in her head.

The dart had entered her head in the cheek area just two centimeters from the eye and exited by the left ear.

Natchaphol, a staffer with Ruam Kantanyu rescue said he was called to cut the dart so that the victim could lie down.

He said that he did not know what kind of dart it was or how the woman had been shot. All he said was that the dart was heavy.

The lady was not seriously hurt - the dart had avoided vital organs and an xray confirmed it had not hit the brain.

The woman was being prepared for surgery to remove the dart.

Natchaphol said he had seen a similar case before but this was very scary and the lady was very lucky not to be more seriously hurt.

A dart ? looks more like an arrow in that picture. So either the perpetrator had watched too many of the old "Bullseye" programs or else he/she had just swatted up on William Tell but missed out the matter of the apple on the head
