That is of course daylight robbery, although the money does end up in the public coffers, while here the numbers might be lower amounts, but it is blatant robbery, with the money going into the cops pockets, with the only moot point being if they have genuine ID or dodgy. Popular Post Sparktrader
Id rather pay 200 baht to one person than $400 to a crooked govt that wastes the money on rubbish. 2 1

Maybe 30x more higher fines would stop 30x more higher deaths on the road ? Sounds a fair trade to me
Nicholas Paul KNIGHT
As I only ever hand over money to the RTP with a receiptat a check stop or Police station, then all this shows is that it is NORMAL for the Pol;ice to ask for money. Simple do not pay them meet them at the station the next day.
Purdey
The report might have gone into more detail about how to tell the difference between a fake and a genuine ID. Does the fake badge have Keystone or it for example?

Liverpool Lou
Some posters need to read the link. This is not about real police officers being protected as not being scammers, it's about phone scammers convincing victims that they are real police officers. Where I live How much is a fine for using your phone while driving WA? If you touch your device while driving to do anything to start, end or change your navigation, even when secured in a mounting, you will receive a $1000 fine and 4 demerit points.
