Thai social media was laughing after a temple in the north east of the country upgraded its demons guarding a chapel.

 

One of the "yaks" was holding a submarine instead of a club.

 

The one on the other side had two watches on his wrist with a tag saying their belonged to a friend. 

 

He had a phone saying he was in a meeting and a tank by his side, reported Sanook. 

 

Both demons were sleeping, one in a mask!

The abbot of Wat Muang in Nakhon Ratchasima Phra Platphaiwan Jittakhutto said they had refurbished the area and wanted to attract more faithful to make merit.

 

He denied they were trying to make a political point saying it was all about Buddhist teachings.

 

But after all the chatter on social media it had been decided to change the demons. The watches would be replaced with bracelets and the submarine would be a more traditional club while the phone would become a bible and the tank would be removed altogether. 

 

The Thai government has been much criticized for buying expensive subs from China while DPM Prawit Wongsuwan was in hot water after claiming that he had borrowed high end watches from a friend, time pieces that were not declared on assets' declarations, notes ASEAN NOW.

art imitating life! why change it? everyone loves it except a few corruptors and they won't be around forever. leave it as a sign for those coming into power: do the right thing or at the very least be able to take a joke
