Khon Kaen province in the north east of Thailand has decided to limit the consumption of alcohol in designated restaurants to 9 pm.

Provincial governor Somsak Jantrakul said that a continuing large number of cases meant that he was going against CCSA advice.

That was to allow drinking until 11 pm.

How long will Thais put up with being treated like underage children!?

For as long as they behave like underage children, which hasn't really changed for the last 10 years I've been here. ????????

The Thai bars in Khon Kaen are open past 1:00 am now with the pounding music.
I don't see that will change anytime soon.
