ADB Finances Electric Ferries in Thailand — First in Southeast Asia

BANGKOK – The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Energy Absolute Public Company Ltd. signed a 160 million Thai baht ($4.7 million) loan agreement to finance an electric ferry fleet for mass rapid transport in Bangkok—the first such transport system in Southeast Asia.

Bangkok gubernatorial candidates float idea of more public boat transport

Pattaya police resolve to fix traffic problems in Soi Buakhao

Pattaya – The Pattaya Traffic Police are trying to solve traffic problems in Soi Buakhao, Pattaya after locals have complained for over a year. As restrictions for entry of international visitors ease from May 1st, residents have increased their complaints and concerns that the area could become a major traffic jam.

Na Jomtien police reorganize and move street vendor’s stalls off parking areas of expanded Na Jomtien Beach

Jomtien Beach, Pattaya — Na Jomtien police collaborated with the Na Jomtien Municipality to reorganize and warn street vendors on Na Jomtien Beach of violating the Cleanliness and Orderliness Act. However, police were lenient to let them sell but within a designated time frame.

Chonburi — A 31-year-old female driver leaped out of her pickup next to a gas station near a cemetery in Chonburi and acted what local residents described as “possessed”, while her mother said she recently had a dispute with her boyfriend which upset her.

Thailand’s household debt forecast to jump to 95% of GDP this year

The average household debt in Thailand has increased 5.09% year on year, to 217,952.59 baht, the highest in 14 years, and this year the debt may reach 95% of the gross domestic product (GDP), according to the forecast of theCentre for Economic and Business Forecasting of the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC).
