BANGKOK, April 29 (TNA) – Bangkok Mass Transit System PCL (BTS) asks its electric train passengers not to sit with their legs crossed.

Thapakorn Meesa-ad, chief of BTS's Mo Chit station, said that the company made the request for cooperation because the passengers who sat with their legs crossed proved to block others' ways and their feet touched standing passengers.

Especially during rush hours, standees had to squeeze into one another to avoid the feet of passengers sitting with their legs crossed. Besides, women sitting with crossed legs might be vulnerable to upskirt photography, he said.

Here's an idea - get your feet out of the way of other passenger's legs, keep them on the floor.

  • Personally I find ppl who wear their backpacks inside confined spaces to be the most annoying.. ????

I agree with this request.

And how about also asking passengers not to lean on the bars during peak hours?

Does that mean up-skirt photography isn't banned also then?

There's actually an information video that plays on the screens addressing just this (along with hot food bags and other annoyances). I think I've actually seen it once on the trains in between the (paying) advertisments.

ser, why are hot food bags an "annoyance"? I don't catch the BTS very often and when I do I've yet to encounter such outrageous behaviour.

The video shows a passenger getting "burnt" by a naked bag of soup, solution put it in a fabric bag.

There's a video for that too ????

These videos play on loop in the BTS Admin building elevators, hence I've seen all the ruddy things a dozen times a day ????

Here's a crazy idea. How about just requesting "Please be considerate of others".

I usually only go one stop so I stand in the doorway and don't get to see such videos. all I ever really take notice of are the station announcements because the voicever chick pronounces them correctly. at least I assume she does as she rolls her rrrrrs ????

Propose to sit with legs wide open.

Can you just imagine walking past someone and brushing against their shoes? The horror of it. The dread. I can see why this is such a high priority. As a society we must stay focused on the really important stuff.

Passengers were asked to not cross their legs, nothing is being forced.

Yes, he is definitely a Brit, I know him personally.

Tell him to shut up for a moment.
Can't hear his voice anymore.

Perhaps Angela Rayner can offer some thoughts? (Apologies to any non-Brits).

Freight is charged by the kilogram. Why not humans? Shouldn't heavier people pay more? Same for the airlines....

Next time on the BTS I shall wear a kilt and spread my legs to benefit form the aircon.
