Prachuap Khiri Khan is likely to be hit by thunderstorms and showers over the coming days, forecasters have said.

According to the Thailand Meteorological Department (TMD) thunderstorms are forecast for most of the country from Friday (April 28) to next Thursday (May 5).

Locally, the TMD says isolated thundershowers will hit the region between April 28-29, while scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy rain is forecast between April 30-May 3.

The unsettled weather is due to Thailand entering the pre-southwest monsoon period as it moves from the hot season to the rainy season.

Had a big storm hit here in Ratchaburi late in the evening.  Still dark clouds hanging around this morning.

Around 22:30 last night [Thurs] had a very heavy thunderstorm with high winds blow through.. lasted a couple of hours.

This morning local roads were closed with flooding and debris everywhere.

Many shops/homes flooded and storm damage all around.

Big storm here in Kanchanaburi started about 10 last night and kept me awake all night until about 4.30am. Finally nodded off only to be awakened at 5am by techno music announcing a local monk party.

Just girding my loins to climb up to the guttering and unblock a drainpipe that appears blocked by the local pigeons finest.
