Scaffolding collapse: One worker dead five injured at condo under construction

One construction worker from Myanmar was killed and five compatriots injured when a piece of scaffolding supporting two floors collapsed during concrete pouring at a condominium project under construction on the Chao Phraya river in Bangkok.

 

The dead worker fell from the 27th floor to the ground, the injured fell to the 26th floor.

 

Thai Rath reported that the Bang Pho police and rescue services were called to the project on Pracharat Sai 1 road in Bang Sue just after midnight on Sunday.

The project - that was not named - started building in June 2020 and was slated to be finished in March but is still under construction. 

 

The area was sealed off as an investigation began.

 

This will continue in the light of day with a later report suggesting that charges of negligence may follow.
