Bang Lamung —  Hundreds of domestic tourists flooded into Pattaya and Jomtien over the past three days to spend a vacation at Jomtien and Pattaya Beach over the three-day labor day weekend, which gave many Thai people an extra day off work.

Sunday, May 1st, was Thailand’s National Labor Day, while yesterday, May 2nd, was the government holiday for the occasion. TPN reporters stationed in Bang Lamung, Chonburi, reported that traffic on the Motorway Road (route 7) leading into Pattaya was relatively congested, with cars lining up for several kilometers.

The Sukhumvit-Pattaya Road also had heavy traffic on all three routes including North Pattaya, Central Pattaya, and South Pattaya, especially at the intersections.

Small section of economy gets very excited after slight boost owing to business created by people from 80% of the economy who are producing nothing as its a public holiday (again) and most of the businesses are closed for the duration..

Imagine how buoyant the tourist industry would be if they tripled the number of public holidays....
