Cambodia as the Asean chair this year moves a step forward by hosting a hybrid Consultative Meeting on Asean Humanitarian Assistance to Myanmar today. According to a press release, Foreign Affairs Minister Prak Sokhonn as the Asean Chair’s special envoy on Myanmar, and secretary-general of Asean, Lim Jock Hoi will co-chair the consultative meeting.

The meeting will be attended physically and virtually by high-level representatives from all Asean member States, Asean external partners, United Nations specialised agencies and other relevant international organisations, it added.

“This will provide a high-level platform for Asean to initiate a multi-stakeholder dialogue that serves to provide guidance on how to advance Asean’s humanitarian assistance to the people of Myanmar based on humanitarian principles and without discrimination”, it added.
