WASHINGTON DC, May 10 (TNA) – Thai restaurateurs will ask Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha to promote Thai foods as soft power, especially Phad Khee Mao Kai or hot and spicy stir-fried chicken.

 

Jaturon Srirote and Sumonthita Disayawatana, owners of the Sisters Thai & Magnolia Dessert Bar & Coffee restaurant in Washington DC, said despite COVID-19, Thai restaurants were popular for their quality, delicious and affordable foods compared with other kinds of foods in the United States.

However, Thai restaurateurs had problems about workers, they said.

Does he have an international audience just waiting for his wise words and advice. 

If you like lots of salt (nam pla) and sugar thai cuisine is for you.  Me, not so much.

Otherwise, the spicy stir-fried eggs might not impress anyone.

some of the Thai food I've eaten has more than soft power!

nam pla ( fish sauce) is very pungent and stronger tasting than the Viet nuoc mam

This "soft power" mumbo jumbo harkens back to the coffee bun craze of 2006.

 

 

thai governments have been promoting thai foods for generations. Probably one of the few things they've done well, especially restaurant funding in foreign lands.

K is pronounced G in Thai. Hence Koi is said as Goi. Kob i.e. a frog is Gob and Kanchanaburi is Ganchanaburi. ????????????????
