Elon Musk’s Tesla registers subsidiary in Thailand

Electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla Inc has registered a subsidiary in Thailand, according to documents filed with the Department of Business Development.

 

The subsidiary, under the name of Tesla (Thailand) Co., Ltd. with a corporate registration number 0105565069229, was registered on April 25, 2022 with a registered capital of 3,000,000 baht.

The company is registered at 87 M Thai Tower, All Seasons Place, Room No. 2319, Floor 23, Wireless Road, Lumpini, Pathumwan, Bangkok.

 

The formal description of the company’s operations includes the selling of electric automobiles, mounted energy storage systems and devices used with mounted energy storage systems.

It's only company to sell cars and other stuff they produce in Thailand. Currently their cars are imported from UK and cost 5x more than usual list price. Hopefully Tesla bringing their products in by themselves could make them more price-competitive. Currently at 6 million baht up for their lowest model 3 they are not really best value...

 

So where does cheap labour come in?
