Popular Post webfact
It is widely expected that Captain Thamanat Prompow wil assume the leadership of the Setthakit Thai Party (Thai Economic Party) when it meets on June 7th to elect a new leadership following this week’s heave within the party which jettisoned General Wit Devahastin na Ayudhya as the leader. The party is then expected to be at the centre of a move that could see 40 votes cross the aisle in the House of Representatives to the opposition to defeat the government of Prayut Chan ocha (inset left) in a censure motion expected in June or July in what will be a busy time for the Thai parliament. by Joseph O' Connor Reports suggest that Captain Thamanat Prompow has had talks with the Pheu Thai Party and even with former premier Thaksin Shinawatra. It is suggested he is thinking beyond the current government which looks weakened from last weekend’s resounding election victory in Bangkok for the Pheu Thai Party, Move Forward Party and former Minister of Transport in the Yingluck Shinawatra government until 2014, Chadchart Sittipunt. The prospects of the government being defeated in a censure motion in June and July strengthened this week as former cabinet minister Thamanat Prompow looks set to take over the leadership of the Setthakij Thai Party (Thai Economic Party) after a coup saw the party’s leadership resign en masse. HaoleBoy
What happened to the report that Prayuth could not stay after May 22 since he was PM (or some acting form) for 8 yrs? Did the Constitutional Court give him a pass? I don't remember seeing anything after the date he was supposed to go ...
jcmj
I’m sure Mr P will find a way to shoot him down a few notches. Seems like anyone that is a threat is squashed. Hopefully one will get by sooner than later. He definitely needs to go.

Eric Loh
Politically I think he is done. No way that he will be accepted in any form by PTP and MFP. Both party’s image will take a dent if they work with Thamanat with his tainted past. His rise to power was meteoric and so will be his fall. zzaa09
The ever fashionable generic cycle of Political Identity of the Month Club. As if there might be a difference. Part and parcel of the misdirection/sleight-of-hand show that most are drawn into.
