Bangkok – A male taxi driver reportedly confessed to the Makkasan Police on Sunday, June 5th, after being caught on dashcam video beating a Chinese tourist near the RCA entertainment area of Bangkok on Saturday, June 4th.

 

The driver was caught on dashcam at around 1:10 AM. attacking the seemingly drunk tourist, aged around 50 and who wasn’t identified to the Thai press, to the ground. According to a witness who delivered the footage to Makkasan Police, both of them were reportedly talking furiously, assumingly disagreeing about the price, before the customer allegedly angrily punched the taxi vehicle.

 

The taxi driver reportedly got out of his vehicle and opened the car trunk before taking out an iron bar, assumed to be about 30 centimeters long, and beating the foreign passenger.

But no mention of banned from driving a taxi with other tourists !

And then they expect chinese comes in droves to rescue them. Shame on anyone who resort to violence for petty issues.

Expect a story featuring a kind taxi driver returning money or valuables left in the car by a tourist anytime now...

It would be interesting to see how the same driver reacted if a motorcyclist accidentally 'touched' his car and gave a wai to say sorry. 

It's wrong to punch another person's car. And it's silly to be drunk out alone at night... but we've all been there. They should both put it down to experience.

Far too many of these cowardly Somchais keep weapons in the boot for times like this... and it's WRONG!

They always say "iron bar", but I'm pretty sure it's normally a steel tube.

A taxi driver will magically find & return a tourists bag which contained 100,000 baht….  ????

It used to be an eye for an eye.. seems inflation has reached everything.
