Pattaya — The Pattaya Marine Department has instructed water safety measures to be implemented by 150 marine business operators due to a large number of foreign and domestic tourists returning.

Ekkarat Kantharo, director of Pattaya Marine Department Region 6, presided over an assembly of 150 marine business operators today, June 8th, to discuss the water safety measures, urging all operators to strictly obey the measures as the number of tourists was increasing.

The director stated that all boat operators needed to be proficient in their trade as they were responsible for every passenger’s life. They must examine the boat on a regular basis to ensure its proper functionality, especially in the foundation of the boat and life safety equipment, which may have deteriorated during the two-year closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

But why oh why are they letting boats load passengers from beach road, previously the government said they wanted all boats to deploy from the boat jetty, what a better time to implement this than now before it becomes a habit once again.

And if they are generally incompetent anyway, they wouldn't know what they are looking at or looking for anyway.
