WASHINGTON — The House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol plans to open its case to the public Thursday night by “connecting the dots” between then-President Donald Trump’s efforts to overthrow the 2020 election and the deadly insurrection.

 

To illustrate Trump’s role in the violence, the committee will employ a multimedia presentation during a primetime hearing that will be carried live on most networks Thursday. It will feature taped testimony from former Trump officials as well as from the president’s own family, according to aides for the committee.

 

While many details of Trump’s efforts to overturn his election loss and prevent the peaceful transfer of power have already been laid out in public, the House committee is promising to provide explosive new revelations that it obtained during its months-long investigation.

How many times can these guys cry wolf? This is beyond ridiculous. Jan 6th was a protest. An unarmed woman was shot and killed by authorities. If anyone should be whinging it's the protestors.

The U.S. House of Representatives select committee probing the Jan. 6, 2021, assault also showed graphic footage of thousands of rioters attacking police and smashing their way into the Capitol. It was the first of six planned hearings intended to show that the Republican former president conspired to unlawfully hold onto power.

Haven't you watched the first televised hearing?  I can't believe you have and would call this anything other than it was- at minimum an extremely violent and nasty riot.

January 6 was a violent attack on the Capitol staged with the intent of preventing the legal certification of the election.  It was no more a protest than a bank robbery is some people protesting about being broke.

Protests against ballots should be made at the ballot box. That's exactly why Trump lost despite getting more votes than any sitting president, the size of the protest was bigger than his support. An insurrection (now proven) is not the way.
