Need to extend 30 day exempt visa entry...60 or 30 days possible? How many times?

Recommended Posts

Hi my 30-day Visa exemption stamp is expiring next week. I was wondering if I could apply for the 60-day covid extension or would I just get a normal 30-day extension? If I get either the 60- or 30-day extension, how many times can I repeat each extension and by how many days?

For example

30-day visa exempt + 60-day covid exemption + 60-day covid exemption?

Or

30-day visa exempt + 30-day exemption + 30-day exemption?

Thank you in advance

You will be made to obtain the "standard" 30 day extension.

You can only obtain one 30 day extension per entry.

After that you could obtain a 60 day covid extension which are due to end July 25.

Your dates work well.

Obtain your 30 day extension now and apply for covid extension prior to July 25.

Thank you so much for your reply.  Do I need to have a certain type of excuse to receive the 60 day covid extension?

You can tick a box on the affidavit (link below).

Many tick the second box.

Keep an eye on reports of covid extensions from the various offices.

Some are playing games.

An agent to obtain the extension is an option if your immigration office are being stupid.

So I can check box two and say I cannot return to work in a country that is closed due to covid like Japan or China?

Do the Bangkok branches offer covid extensions until July 25?

Can you recommend any agents in the Bangkok area?

Thanks

You could start with ThaiVisaCentre (they use LINE)

There are others.

I haven't read many recent reports of covid extensions.

There are a few bad reports of some offices refusing.

Be aware that if you entered visa exempt you will attend IT mall Laski. 3rd floor.

Entered with tourist visa you attend CW.

You don't need an agent to get the 30 day extension or the 60 day covid extension as it's a very simple process of having  a passport pic and copies of passport page, entry stamp and TM6 arrival card which you'd need to give to agent anyway (If you're in hotel they should of registered you for a TM30 when you checked in). Cost is 1900 baht each

For the extra affadavit for the covid extension I ticked first box for the "...or the pandemic condition of covid-19 is still ongoing." as it is in most countries (I didn't want to make up that embassy refused me a letter by checking box 2)

Some immigration offices have straight out stopped issuing covid extensions as per reports.

If dealing with one of these offices you have 2 options.

File a TM30 change of address and apply at another office OR use an agent.

not sure if they are giving covid extensions now after July 1

Covid extensions are available up till July 25 and perhaps even after that.

You should not have been required to show outbound flight but of course this sort of stuff expected from Thai immigration.
