Voted in 1 presidential election out of 12 available. I won't be voting in this one either. President is appointed by electors of the Electoral College (EC). He/she is not elected by popular vote. You don't even vote for the electors of the EC. Electoral College is the group of presidential electors that is formed every four years during the presidential election for the sole purpose of voting for the president and vice president. Each state appoints the electors. With that ... what's the point of voting for the President. I have better things to do, than waste my time, going through the motions, doing something, that affects, absolutely nothing. 4 times the EC appointed the unpopular candidate ... Here in Pak Kret they U-Turn in the wrong direction (307 and 306 intersection), or through a Zebra crossing, to save themselves from going a little further to U-turn in the right direction. It's always nice to be U-Turning and have a motorcycle come at you head-on trying to U-turn illegally. -

She wasn't U-turning into oncoming traffic causing the deaths, as you suggest by your comment on this thread, her bike was hit from behind by the bus. She [the deceased rider] U-turned close enough to the bus for it to have hit her. i.e. she U-turned too closely in front of flowing traffic and was hit by a bus driver who reportedly didn't see the the motorcyclist(s). Either the bus driver wouldn't have been able to 'slow / avoid' anyway, and as mentioned a 'time honoured tradition' of pulling-out without looking. In another thread I mentioned how many motorcyclists are 'saved' by drivers taking avoiding action. This happens to me frequently - motorcyclists U-turning or pulling out without slowing or looking and I have to hit the anchors... they ride off blissfully unaware that they were so very nearly hit. Such a waste of life - its astonishing the sheer absense of self-preservation witnessed daily on Thailands roads.- 1

Laminate/Vinyl flooring over wood floor
That is a reasonable idea, there are some things you need to do before doing that you will first need to level the floor, while I’m not there I can be sure that it is not flat now, then since the floor is creaking you will need a minimum of 20mm ply (you could use USB but you need to know where to buy it) I know a supplier in Khon Kaen and you will pay 1,200+ per sheet for good plywood, again you have to know where to go as the majority of places have cheap Chinese plywood. You can never get a bargain on plywood, if its lower than 1,400 unless you know the suppliers, the reasons will include; little glue, high formaldehyde levels in the product, micron thin surface veneers, veneers overlapping, veneer voids, short time in the veneer press, low temperature in the press, etc don't make the mistake of using outdoor ply inside as the formaldehyde levels will be stratospheric, also don’t believe that your builder has any knowledge of any of the information above, they will almost always consider that they have a bargain when they pay 600 Baht for a sheet of cheap c*r*a*p, that will do an adequate job for a year or two, while giving people formaldehyde exposure. -

That doesn't mean, "Don't read them," it means, "Understand the bias as you read them." You'll have a better understanding of how the world as a whole works if you expose yourself to published works that you know are biased, and you then perceive and understand that bias. "But I only trust 'fact-checked' information!!!" Then you live in an echo-chamber with your brain shut off as you are too lazy to think on your own. Yep - you'll get a single view of the world and you'll own that view too. Then you just become an ideologue. That doesn't make you knowledgeable, it make you brainwashed. You're more knowledgeable if you attempt to understand why the other sources are biased - you may not like it or agree with them, but you can better understand what drives the worldviews of others. There is a lot to learn there.
