MRToMRT
What the best best to get from central bangkok (not a hotel, but a dark sub soi)) to the airport at 5 am on Thursday morning? Is Grab good at that early hour or is it better to prebook a car with someone else (airport taxi company?) Cheers.
mikeymike100
You could try a "Bolt" taxi, probably cheaper than Grab. you would need to download the Bolt app. Probably around 1000Baht. I have used Bolt taxis for around 6 months now, never had a problem.
khunjeff
Grab should be fine, just leave a small amount of extra time in case there are no cars nearby at that hour. Bolt is also ok, but you'll need to pay cash. The price should be nowhere near 1000 baht - right at this moment, on a weekday afternoon, Grab is under 500 and Bolt is less than 400, and at 5am it will likely be even less.
Popular Post martin81
I downloaded the app In-Driver and got to BKK airport from Sukhumwit soi 8 to airport for 291 Baht late night. Bolt and Grab were around 400 to 550 Baht. It was a normal taxi but did not turn on meter as already agrred to 291 Baht. Toll fee was 25 + 50 b = 75 b. I gave him a tip of around 30 baht for good service.

swm59nj
At that hour of the morning Grab should hopefully be fine. But be forewarned that Grab has lost a lot of drivers . So it might take unusually longer to get one.
Eaglekott
Use Grab, and make sure to select "Grab TAXI" it is cheaper than Bolt and others, Pay meter that they start when they pick you up + 20 Baht. "Grab Car or Just Grab" has same price or maybe even higher than Bolt.
Tropposurfer
Whats wrong with a decent clean taxi chompoo for goodness sake. If you're so deep in dark-town that you're concerned to even find a cab have a word with one of the local 'taximan jai dee' and ask him to do the trip the next day. No app to download and use, no needing check one app price against another and play fiscal roulette to save - literally no more than a few dollars, no need to book/ring early in case no cars available. And they're as plentiful and cheap as hot chips. 1

soi3eddie
Either do Bolt, Grab or walk out to a busier street and get a Taxi Meter <deleted> don't sweat the easy stuff. Pay what it costs and it won't likely be more than 300 Baht (about 10 USD). Get on with and enjoy life. Edited July 5, 2022 by soi3eddie

Absolutely, 1000 ThB gets you to Pattaya. Has the cannabis liberalization gotten to this guy?
