2 seriously injured in bear attack

2 men are today in hospital after they were attacked in a frenzied attack by a wild bear. This incident happened at Chhay Bei Choan, Stung Ta Chan Annex, in Chhay Lok village, O’Som commune, Veal Veng district, Pursat province, at 12:40 on Monday. Colonel Theang Leng, Inspector of Veal Veng District Police Inspectorate, said that the 2 men were fishing when they encountered the animal, which caused serious injuries by biting and tearing their flesh. It is not known whether the attacking animal was an Asian Black Bear or a Sun Bear – the 2 types of bear that live in Cambodia. Both victims are currently being treated and treated at a private hospital in O’Som commune.
