July 20, 20223 yr Popular Post BANGKOK (NNT) - The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is aiming to revitalize the nation’s tourism industry with new strategies and campaigns, targeting 30 million tourists and 2.38 trillion baht in revenue by 2023. TAT governor Yuthasak Supasorn said the TAT will align its market strategy with its five-year policy (2023-2027) to raise the tourism industry’s standards in all areas. The strategy follows three strategic objectives: (1) Drive Demand, which focuses on sustainable quality tourism, (2) Shape Supply, which creates value and raises tourism standards through a new tourism ecosystem, and (3) Thrive for Excellence, which enhances the organization’s efficiency towards becoming a data-driven organization and increases its market competitiveness. The TAT will promote tourism for domestic and international tourists through "meaningful travel," which will provide visitors with valuable and memorable experiences. The program is part of the "Visit Thailand Year 2022-2023: Amazing New Chapters" campaign, which was launched to bring back visitors and help the tourism sector return to pre-pandemic levels by 2024. According to the TAT Governor, 2.7 million tourists have arrived in the kingdom so far this year, but that number is expected to rise to 10 million by the end of the year. Domestic and foreign tourism revenue are estimated to total between 1.25 trillion and 2.38 trillion baht in 2023, with a median generation of 1.73 trillion baht. He also expects 11-30 million tourists to visit the kingdom in 2023, generating between 580 million and 1.5 trillion baht. He noted that the key variable for high and low figures is whether some countries will allow their people to travel abroad. The TAT also predicted that foreign tourists will probably spend less money next year as a result of the current inflation situation and the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict. However, the weaker baht is likely to boost tourist spending power and encourage foreign tourists to visit Thailand. -- © Copyright NNT 2022-07-20 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. July 20, 20223 yr Popular Post What’s wrong with giving a break down of tourist numbers.? Inbound foreign tourist Thai tourists then give Outbound foreign tourists Outbound Thai tourists Then show me the money!! If you dare????
July 20, 20223 yr Popular Post More Pie in the Sky; they are delusional and it will not be happening for several years to come.....if ever !
July 20, 20223 yr Popular Post 30 million "quality tourists"...I do wonder what is being smoked there? Is this already the consequence of the cannabis release? There should be no more "mass tourism"! Only the "ELITE" should come and spend as much money as possible, so was the plan, right?

Meanwhile in the thread immediately below this on the news page "TAT’s marketing plan 2023 to revitalise Thai tourism towards high value and sustainable growth". 30 million pax doesn't sound like a target which fits with a 'high value and sustainable' strategy to me...

July 20, 20223 yr Popular Post Come from where?? Middle earth? With this Inflation I am not sure there will be enough tourists to fill in 300×30,00,000 baht tourist fees dreamt by TAT.

July 20, 20223 yr Popular Post If there is one thing about the TAT they do give my sides the best workout for the day with laughter. They are also consistently out of touch with reality. Does anyone in the Thai media ever take these clowns to task on the numbers they sprout out (each month) that are always wrong. They have more chance of getting the lottery numbers correct. As with any business, does anybody ever check the statistics and say, "the last figures that were quoted were way off". I guess not. The usual nonsense from the most ridiculous department in Thailand.

July 20, 20223 yr Popular Post 30 million ? Genuine tourists ? OK, Possible, Yes, like, no. The world is NOT going to spring back to normal and near to pre-pandemic levels in 2023. For one thing people have debt from covid, fear of travelling and getting stuck, looming world wide recessions , utility bill rises and inflation and flight costs. Also Thailand is currently making itself less attractive by the day with fees and double charging I'd day 7-8 million best this year, and 15-18 best next year, I cannot see Thailand hitting 25-30 million until 2025 at the earliest. 40 million maybe 10 years from now with some creative migrant accounting
July 20, 20223 yr I wonder if TAT has ever gotten their forecast even close to the reality? With high gas prices all over, the cost of flying anywhere will likely still be high this coming Winter. With COVID numbers heading higher, there are already random checks again for people entering Canada. Guess we will all have to wait to see what the rules and restrictions will be from November until Spring of 2023.

July 21, 20223 yr Popular Post TAT - Oxygen thieves or dreamers? I guess ya gotta give em credit for their tenacity and creative ability.
July 21, 20223 yr If it is TATs job to promote tourism, why don't they advertise in other countries on TV or social media? Has anyone ever seen any ads for Thailand or Thai Airways ? I haven't. Other airlines advertise so why don't Thai ?
July 21, 20223 yr More "experts" with their meaningless figures, It seems to be the fashion these days for everything from covid to climate change, but I must admit the TAT are the masters of it

July 21, 20223 yr Awwww. Isn't it lovely to see good old TAT keeping spirits up with their comedy figures - and back to the top flight in <deleted> du taureau estimations. They have hedged their bets a bit though as the article states " He also expects 11-30 million tourists to visit the kingdom in 2023" although the headline only mentions the top figure.
