As I pointed out HMRC has more systems than 1 for taxing income. While the majority of tax payers are under the PAYE system, as I was for about ½ my tax paying life, others are not taxed in the same way.

 

Some non pension sources of income are suitable for classification as PAYE others are not.

 

I accept the apology for being way to certain that that my accountant did not know her job. Knowledge of different cases can only be helpful.
