77kaoded Thai Caption: Cables all over the road

77kaoded reported with a video and still images after two people on a motorcycle were injured by hanging wires and cables in the South Samrong area of Phrapradaeng, Samut Prakan.

Locals had been complaining about the dangerous nature of 200 meters of roads.

There are cables hanging everywhere and a terrible mess of entangled wires higher up.

Despite the warnings on Monday two motorcyclists came off after the wires became entangled around the handlebars.

The media even had a long and uneventful video of traffic moving about the area amid the wires that mostly were hanging on what passed for a sidewalk.

The media made no attempt to contact the authorities involved but they noted it was dangerous to road users and pedestrians alike.

ASEAN NOW notes that Thailand has spent billions of baht burying cables but mostly on main streets in tourist areas.

Back sois have been ignored and the Thai police are doing what they do best - precisely nothing.

Since when have the police been responsible for wires/internet/phone cables?   Isn't that the BMA's purview?

Isn't public safety a responsibility of the rtp and they'd have to take appropriate measures? I guess only if there's enough money involved.

No, I don't think so, RTP's responsibility is law enforcement.   BMA are responsible for who uses their poles.
