jdinasia
There is no ferry from Phuket to KL (AFAIK there is no ferry from ANYWHERE in Thailand to KL)
Crossy
Have you looked at a map? 1. It's about 400 miles in a straight line from Phuket to KL, say 450 by sea (to Port Klang), at 10 knots that will take 45 hours, hardly a ferry ride, more of a cruise. 2. KL is 30 miles from the sea, the ferry would need to be a DUKW. Why not fly? EDIT Actually there are a number of cruise ships operating the Phuket / Langkawi / Penang / Klang / Melacca route, maybe one-way tickets are available, hardly a cheap option though Edited June 23, 2007 by Crossy

Mahout Angrit
what would be the closest port to phuket and maybe take a train to kl??????? Have you REALLY looked at a map? and I dont really understand what you want to know Why do you want to make life so difficult? there are no 'ferries' from Phuket and no railway line either. Why not fly or go by bus? If you really want to use the train you must go from Phuket to Surat Thani (4-5 hours) or Phuket to Haad Yai (7-8 hours) by road before you reach a railway. my friend I
is it poss to go to kl by ferry or second best ferry to the closestmain town and take a train ti kl If you have a lot of time........... Ferry Phuket to Krabi &/or Phi Phi Island. From either these places ferry to Lanta Island. Ferry Lanta to mainland, then by road to Satun. [get exit stamp from Thai] Ferry to Langkawi Island, direct or via Kuala Perlis.[ entry stamp for Malaysia] Ferry Langkawi to Georgetown [ Penang] Ferry G,town to Butterworth Train B.worth to KL [ train leaves 9pm] arrive Sentral KL station next morning take taxi to hospital
MiG16
from phuket direct to KL best would be to fly closest ferry would be... bus from Phuket to Satun....from Satun theres a ferry to Langkawi...from Langkawi theres bus to KL. if by train....you'd have to make your way to closest train station (phuket doesnt have one).....perhaps bus to Trang...take the train to Butterworth (theres one Thai train per day that runs directly into the border town in Malaysia already...) and from there change to the Malaysia train...that will take you to KL. or take the bus from Butterworth to KL. cheers. Correction - there's no bus from Langkawi to KL but perhaps from Kuala Kedah (south port) or Kuala Perlis (north port). Only ferries and flights from langkawi to mainland. MiG16
oops explorer is right....ofcourse. another ferry ride would be needed to get from langkawi to malaysia mainland. (we drove so it was ok....) still not a convenient route.....if u are using public transport.
