Senior police from Nonthaburi took the thief and attempted rapist of a woman at Luck Salon from Plai Bang police station in Nonthaburi to the scene of the crime for a reenactment yesterday morning.

The case gained a high profile because of the connection the female victim has with famous Thai comedian Mum Jokmok.

Chaichet Saduakdee, 35, has been charged with theft and attempted rape. He was caught fleeing to his hometown on a motorcycle in Lam Lukka district of Pathum Thani on Wednesday less that 24 hours after the crime, reported Thai Rath.

Mum thanked Pol Maj-Gen Phaisan Wongwatcharamongkhol, Nonthaburi commander, and other senior officers for their quick resolution of the case noting that the man responsible had committed three other offences on the same day and would have struck again.

He said that the victim was like a relative to him as she did his girlfriend's hair and her husband is a singer in his Bang Fai Play group.

She'd called him after the brazen incident and he'd rushed over to lend assistance.

He said that the suspect had shown abnormal behavior. He had had a haircut next door then just gone in and committed the theft and attack. Items had been recovered.

He said that he felt sorry for the suspect and if he was able to reform he would be prepared to give him a job when he got out of jail.

At 10.30 am special teams from the Nonthaburi police fearing a lynch mob took the suspect on a reenactment to the place where he had a haircut and then onto the salon. They spent 30 minutes at the scene hearing the suspects confession before he was taken back to Plai Bang police station.

Nongluck Moonsri, the victim said she was starting to recover. She thanked the police and Mum who she said arrived at her shop five minutes after the incident and had given her complete assistance and support.

Fearing a lynch mob they continued to do the re-enactment...

makes perfect sense.
