BANGKOK, Sept 1(TNA) – Energy prices rose on Sept 1 in accordance with a resolution of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister Supattanapong Punmeechaow.

The cooking gas price increased by 1 baht per kilogram, resulting in the price of cooking gas in a 15kg cylinder going up by 15 baht from 393 to 408 baht.

The government hands out 100 baht as a cooking gas subsidy to holders of government welfare cards.

"The government has not come up with any assistance for the power tariff that rose from 4.00 to 4.72 baht per unit."

That's an 18 per cent rise. When that rise is added to goods produced by factories, etc, then the cost of living faced by ordinary people is going to rise substantially.

At the minute I don't see wages keeping pace.

Everything is relative.

In Thailand a Man will earn 400 Baht a Day wages and pay 405 Baht for 15 Kg cooking Gas

In the UK a man will earn 50 Quid a Day wages and pay 54 Quid for the same 15 Kg of cooking Gas.

So ! you see, its still expensive for both people.

Maybe make a regular habit of buying full bottles and handing them to your poorer neighbours as a kindness ????

Not when you're on 350 baht per day.

My LPG tank was 395 baht yesterday, it was 335 a few months ago (15Kg).

Gone gasless here never liked the idea of a bomb in the kitchen glad to get rid of it ????

Corporate energy revenues and profits should increase directly proportional to the price increases.  ????

The main Thai kitchen is outside at my place, and even then the bottle is on the other side of the wall. Most houses do that.... condos are not allowed to have gas bottles are they?
