Residents in 11 provinces along the Chao Phraya River have been warned to expect  river overflows and flooding next Monday and Tuesday, Areas at risk include Uthai Thani, Lopburi, Bangkok and Samut Prakan.


Torrential rain has caused a massive volume of water to flow into the reservoir of the Chao Phraya Dam which will be released gradually from Sunday.


The parents of a 7-year-old girl who was found dead in a school van on Tuesday  in Chon Buri say they will seek a second autopsy if the results of the official police autopsy fails to identify how she died. The parents are concerned at seeing bruises on her wrists and legs and the scratches on her arms. An initial examination indicated the child died of heatstroke.


Two political parties will hold a press conference today and are expected to announce they will merge. The conference will be held at the bangkok home of Suwat Lip-ta-panlop leader of the Chart Pattana Party.

The Governments lottery office plan to introduce 3 and 6 number lottery tickets. The idea received approval during a series of public hearings. It’s expected the new tickets will reduce illegal ticket sales and increase lottery revenue. 


Tickets are likely to cost 80 baht for 6 numbers and 50 baht for 3 numbers.

 

A British man died while another British man sustained serious injuries after their motorbike collided with a garbage truck on Samui Island in the early hours yesterday.


Rescuers arrived to find the two Britons in their 30s, one was pronounced dead at the scene while the other was taken to hospital.

South Korea's national security adviser has said he and his counterparts from the United States and Japan have agreed there will be no soft response if North Korea conducts a nuclear test.


His comments were made at talks between the 3 countries in Hawaii amid signs the North has completed preparations to conduct its first nuclear test since 2017.


Malaysia: Rosmah Mansor, the wife of former Malaysian prime minister Najib Razak, was found guilty of corruption yesterday and sentenced to 10 years in jail plus a fine of around 216 million dollars.


The 70 year old was charged with soliciting 87 million Ringit in bribes from a contractor in 2016 and 17 to secure a contract to supply solar energy and 2 other charges, she is expected to appeal the verdict.
