Daily News Thai Caption: Five arrested for abduction of 16 year old

Region 1 police working with the Pak Kret constabulary announced the arrest of five people allegedly involved in the abduction and beating of a 16 year old.

They all denied the brazen attack that left the boy on the verge of death by the side of the road in Nonthaburi.

They were arrested at a house in Bangkok, reported Daily News.

The boy had opened a bank account for a gang then had used the money himself. It amounted to 340,000 baht.

Police have been dusting for prints on two vehicles, a Fortuner and a Mazda that were used in the abduction.

Deputy Region 1 chief Pol Maj-gen Pheerapong Wongsaman said that police were investigating what Fluke - the boy - was doing with the account.

People who open accounts for mafia style gangs to use in money laundering often do not know what is going on but some do know.

Investigations continue with four more people being sought including someone who discharged a weapon at the scene and a woman who was also involved.

If he knicked 340k of "laundry money" then he should consider himself lucky that all he copped thus far has been a flogging. I suspect he might end up in a coffin if he doesn't pay the principle and interest. This story hasn't reached the final chapter yet, 340k is a lot of money for some here and people are executed for far less sums of money.

Even though he is only kid at 16yo, it is hard for me not to feel that the beating was well deserved.

Yes he is a kid but 340,000 Baht is 340,000 Baht, it's a lot of money locally and for most Thais, it's more than their life savings.

Arrest warrants have been issued for six more suspects, wanted by Pak Kret district police in Nonthaburi province for an assault on a 16-year-old boy, who was abducted at gunpoint from a motorcycle repair shop in the district last week.

The boy was found unconscious at the side of the motorway in Bangkok’s Lat Krabang district on the day of his abduction, allegedly carried out by about ten men.

Police said that the victim is out of danger and was moved to a standard ward from intensive care unit last night (Monday), but he still cannot not give any information to the police.

I find that hard to believe.
