Thai cabinet approves 45-day stay for tourists entitled to visa exemption and 30 days with Visa on Arrival

 

The cabinet approved an edict of the Interior Ministry yesterday (Tuesday) extending the period of stay, from 30 to 45 days, for tourists from countries and territories entitled to visa exemptions and from 15 to 30 days for those eligible for a Visa on Arrival.

Foreigners infected with COVID-19 can visit Thailand

Foreign visitors to Thailand who are infected with COVID-19 will no longer be barred from entering, following a decision by the cabinet on Monday to delete COVID-19 from a list of forbidden diseases in foreign visitors, said Deputy Government Spokesperson Rachada Dhnadirek.

THE CABINET yesterday (Sept. 20) approved an additional 212 million baht from this year’s budget reserved for emergencies and necessary expenses to cover a shortfall in the promotion of the shooting of six foreign movies in Thailand with these scheduled to be released this year, INN News said.

Thief Dressed As Food Delivery Rider Steals 3.4m Baht Payroll

CHONBURI POLICE are chasing a thief dressed as a food delivery rider who stole 3.4 million baht payroll after picking a fight with one of two employees of a company who had just withdrawn the cash to pay wages, Naewna newspaper.

60-70% Of Thais Have Been Infected With Covid: Expert

A THAI medical expert said in a Facebook post today (Sept. 21) that blood tests previously carried out indicate that around 60-70% of the population have been infected with Covid-19, particularly the dominant Omicron subvariant, Matichon newspaper said.

Govt and military unable to justify why allocated budget for payroll went in shortfall for September

Acting Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan said it was “normal” for the Cabinet to allocate emergency funding from the central budget worth 1.32 billion Baht for the Ministry of Defence to pay for wages of military personnel, even though such payments are budgeted in the regular fiscal year 2022 budget.

Thailand sets May 7, 2023 as the tentative date of next general election
