BANGKOK (NNT) - The Cabinet has approved a 2.1 billion baht compensation for health volunteers’ work from June through September this year, at the rate of 500 baht per person per month.

The Cabinet has approved the proposed compensation package for village health volunteers and health volunteers in Bangkok, who have been supporting the government’s COVID-19 responses from June to September this year. The package, which costs a total of 2.1 billion baht, provides each of the 1.05 million recipients with a 500 baht per month compensation, for a total of 2,000 baht per person covering the 4 months of hard work.

Government Spokesman Anucha Burapachaisri said this package has been approved by the Cabinet.

He said the work of health volunteers has to be continued despite the improved COVID-19 situation, in order to continue monitoring and controlling the spread, and help with the country’s post-pandemic transition.

This latest compensation is provided in a series of packages covering health volunteers’ community work from October 2021, for a total of 6.3 billion baht or around 6,000 baht per person.
