As a professional writer, this <deleted> pisses me off to no end. We are no longer allowed to be concise and forced to resort to euphemism.

As a youngster, I remember the word Spastic being commonly used. There were even adverts by the Spastic Society.

This word was deemed offensive and is never used any more.

As for the OP. I wonder if these councils get many people not understanding these forms.

If they asked me Birthing Parent? I would write mother, as she was the one who birthed (if that is a word) me.

These things start off as guides, until such time as they are forced upon us as law.

Expat is a poor word. How about invaders who can't speak the language.

Many expats are invited to work in countries where skill levels are very poor!

As you are a writer, why do you use 'euphemism' as an uncountable noun?

Absurd !  some people must have nothing better to do. I remember the nonsense altering all the kids nursery rhymes.

"Bah bah ethnic minority sheep"

Horse racing will be knackered without "handicap"

And Golf

Would you not have to say 'Excuse this (me)'

It would be funny if it wouldn't be so sad for some people who don't want to follow the stupid woke rules. Here is another sad case.

And another crazy inclusive story.
