Sanook Thai Caption: Stop sharing images of NE shooting

RTP spokesman Pol Maj-Gen Achayon Kraithong said yesterday's massacre was something no one expected or wanted to happen.

He expressed his condolences to relatives and the injured.

Then he implored social media users and the online community to stop sharing pictures and video of what happened, reported Sanook.

He understood the anger and fear but called for such action to protect the bereaved and other victims and prevent further bad feeling.

And who are the sad degenerates taking these photos and spreading them?

Anti-social media strikes again.

Can't understand why anyone would even want to look at them, let alone share them.

Gruesome crime-scene and accident photos are not unusual here. They are normally masked in the name-brand publications.

I can't make a judgement on these photos, nor would I want to even see them.

That said, the Police have better things to do than warn off citizen's exercising their rights.

If they're breaking a law, and it's pretty easy to whip one up, Internet Crime for example, then start arresting them.

I agree. It's enough to know what happened without doing a bunch of vlogs on it, especially all the vloggers who immediately did an episode to get views.

The photos I saw on wife's Line account were uncensored/un-pixilated.  The school photos could have been taken by anyone at the scene but the one's of the shooter, his wife and child, post-mortem, at their house could have only been taken by first responders and then shared with others so the RTP needs to manage the activity of their people in the crime scenes better

They have weird media rules here ..   TV and newspapers can show a grisly murder scene, but they can't show the handcuffs on the 'perp'.

Social media - no rules!

Didn't they actually put down a red carpet at the scene, then hurriedly remove it too?

What a grim sideshow referencing other things this nation needs to start having honest conversations with itself about.

But to stay on topic...

I think I will pass should the gore porn chance my way.

People who share this sort of thing have never had to stand there and smell the stench and watch the flies get busy.

Get your house in order and these events wouldn't happen.

Perhaps the parents took them.......

Thais seem to feel differently about such things. I have had friends die here and my Mrs has got involved with the arrangements..... she took some odd pics and asked if I wanted to see them.

I would think like me people will have to add massacre to the list of concerns when packing your kids off to school here now after this sickening episode a visit by the general wont ever make this go away. as for sharing images stop its sick the country is grief stricken enough ????
