77kaoded reported that a TikTok user had posted about a mystery light emanating from the depths of the Mekong River.

 

It happened on Sunday, on the eve of the auspicious day of Buddhist Lent. 

 

It was in the area of Ban Huay Sai in Chiang Khong district of Chiang Rai, northern Thailand.

 

The poster said that it was very bright and dazzled the eyes. 

 

It couldn't have been a reflection of the sun as it was cloudy at the time.

 

Other people in the area reported a similar phenomenon.

Naga balls sums it up nicely.

Maybe it’s one of the bulb lights you can put cord in water and it lights  .. ok short story.. one of the 

family members drank to much sauce hmmm whiskey and wandered off … we went out separately combing the wooded area…. I had a cup of water to but the cord in so the light worked… I tripped

and dumped the cup of water… it was very dark so… I <deleted> in the cup.. it worked. I gave the light back to a relative…
