Well i recently applied for a visa for thailand for two months and later on when i arrive over here and i find out that i have been stamped a visa for only 1 month(new laws). Anyways i was wondering if anyones know if it is possible to extend the visa for another few weeks or a week from the immigration office in soi suan plu in bangkok. If there are any conditions to require for it. I would not want to waste my time doing the border runs; if i can get it over here for just once. Besides i don't need to stay more than a a week. Any info regarding this would be really appreciated.

By the way forgot to add that i'm on a tourist visa.

You don't mention your nationality which could be important.

Normally a tourist visa obtained from a consulate will give you a 60 day stamp on entry, if you have a 30 day stamp it could be in error (which is why we need your nationality). If a mistake has been made it can be fixed for free by a visit to immigration before the erronious stamp expires.

If you are not one the list that obtain a 30 day entry without visa you would obtain a 30 day entry on a tourist visa and you should be able to extend that for 30 days I believe. Cost will be 1,900 baht, photos and TM.7 form. Extension should start from your current permitted to stay until day so you can do early and be sure.
