New ATM Deposit/Transfer Regulations??

Recommended Posts

In the last few days, there have been local news reports of a change in ATM deposit/transfer regulations, coming into effect this month.  "Pattaya News Today" YouTube channel reported it today  but their description of the changes was unclear to me.  It may have to do with cardless ATM transactions.

Does anybody know what these new rules are?

Not a big deal and something which should have been in place for all banks from the outset.

It is for cash deposits made at the CDM machines. One has to put a bank atm card and pin number to deposit money at those machines now.

"From November 15th, people who want to deposit cash via cash deposit machines (CDMs) in Thailand will be required to identify themselves by inserting their credit or debit cards and entering their Personal Identification Number (PIN) or password."

At Krungsri from what I remember I always had to insert my card and pin to deposit cash. At Kasikorn it was only insert the card to deposit money.
