Thai capital wins sought-after title for 6th consecutive time, while the Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok is voted ‘Best Business Hotel in the Asia-Pacific’ and THAI the third best Asia-Pacific airline.
TAT Newsroom

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is pleased to report that Bangkok has been voted the ‘Best Leisure City in the Asia-Pacific’ for the sixth consecutive time in the prestigious Business Traveller Asia-Pacific Awards 2022, while the Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok was voted the ‘Best Business Hotel in the Asia-Pacific’ and Thai Airways International (THAI) the third best airline in the Asia-Pacific.

Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, TAT Governor, said “Bangkok’s continued recognition by Business Traveller Asia-Pacific voters as a favourite holiday city complements so wonderfully the TAT’s ‘Visit Thailand Year 2022-2023: Amazing New Chapters’ campaign. It reflects the enduring appeal of the Thai capital, and also how the city offers so much that’s in line with the kingdom’s 5F, 4M soft-power foundations of Food, Film, Fashion, Festival, Fight, Music, Museum, Master, and Meta. It can all be found in Bangkok.”

It is also a record 11th time Bangkok has won the ‘Best Leisure City in the Asia-Pacific’ title since 2008. The title was not included in the 2021 awards, but returned this year to once again be won by the Thai capital, which held the title for the five consecutive years up to and including 2020.

Bangkok was also named third on the ‘Best Business City in Asia’ list, after Singapore and Hong Kong. These top three cities all retained the same ranking from the 2021 awards.

THAI was named third on the ‘Best Asia-Pacific Airline’ list, after Singapore Airlines and Cathay Pacific. These top three airlines also kept the same ranking from the 2021 awards.

Also earning top distinction was the Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok, which was voted ‘Best Business Hotel in the Asia-Pacific’ and into second spot on the ‘Best Business Hotel in the World’ list.

The Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok topped the ‘Best Business Hotel in Bangkok’ rankings, followed by the Shangri-La Bangkok in second place, and JW Marriott Hotel Bangkok in third.

Voting for the Business Traveller Asia-Pacific Awards 2022 was carried out by readers and subscribers between July and September, with the results being independently compiled by research agency Business Intelligence.

Business Traveller Asia Pacific, so prestigious no-one's ever heard of it.....

Have business travelers in the Asia Pacific never heard of it? How would you know?

Presumably the average baked-beans-on-toast monger working as hod carrier in the UK or retired from bricklaying hasn't. Waddling around on Sukhumvit at night, such always smugly assures us he knows "better places" while citing some "issue" from a low street perspective, mainly for trolling purposes.

I am surprised it was not voted #1, by Really important backyards of SE Asia Magazine.

Just the fact that Thai Air was voted #3 is suspect. EVA, All Nippon Air, Cathay and Singapore Air are vastly superior to Thai.

Singapore Airlines was ranked #1, Cathay Pacific was #2. I haven't flown Thai in a while, but was very pleased the times I did, both long haul and short haul.

Do they get your thumbs up?????

If it keeps them happy as having the best Leisure city Bangkok in the Asian

Region let it be so ????

Bangkok is indeed the best city. I can't think of anywhere I would rather live.

Sydney used to push it close, before it devolved into a police state reminiscent of something out of Orwell's 1984.

Bangkok has great restaurants, great hotels, great "nightlife", great parks, reasonable cost of living. Pattaya, Rayong, Hua Hin, Kanchanaburi only a couple of hours away. Eye candy everywhere. Fantastic place.

No, I'm long over it!

Such hatred of some posters on here. With such hatred for English /Foreigners why read Thai visa? As for if your not happy leave well many do.  In the 20 years I have lived and visited Thailand only one friend remains. Derogatory comments about hod carrying waddling, bar stool English expats shows such hatred and racism.  People in the building trade in the uk can make vast some of money as do many who decide to live in Thailand.  Throwing £20,000+ into a thai bank basically not to be used is not chump change....

I am a long time business traveller and have never heard of it . Have you even read this publication? Or are you just trolling ?!

I have not been a fan of Thai air for well over a decade. Multiple poor experiences, poor service, and slow baggage handling. They are NOT a superior airline. Not even close to top 20, in my opinion.
