People living along the tidal reaches of the Chao Phraya River have been advised to be aware of the potential for possible river overflows between 6am and 9pm until November 9th, due to high tides in conjunction with the intensification of the north-easterly monsoon over the Gulf of Thailand and the discharge of water through the Chao Phraya Dam in Chai Nat Province.

According to the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), the water level in the Chao Phraya River will be higher than normal, estimated at between 1.7-2.2 meters above mean sea level.

Communities facing river overflows can notify the BMA’s flood coordination centre by scanning the “Traffy Fondue” QR code.
