Hua Hin Tailors

A while ago I mentioned that  I had lost 20kg weight (and still off) and needed to change my whole wardrobe. I enquired about good quality tailors in Bangkok and had quite a few useful replies.

When the covid restrictions were lifted i returned to Thailand and headed straight back to my home in Hua Hin.

The question now is, does anybody have first hand experiences in purchasing clothes from a decent tailor in Hua Hin? If so could you please let me know names and addresses?

On another note. I do not drive and get around by public transport.

Does anybody know what the current price for the green songtaew and an average for a motorcycle taxi in Hua Hin?

Many thanks.

Good on you losing the weight.

I have bought a fair share of clothes made by tailors in Thailand.

Most tailors do not have their own company that makes the garments.

It is outsourced to other people and i do believe most tailors use the same

sewing atelier.

The quality of the work will be the same for most every tailor and you get

three fittings most times anyway.

So what the tailors are doing is just measuring and provide the material.

The real quality part is the material,a cheap (inexpensive) suit is made from

cheap material.

Pay more for quality material and you will be happy with the product for years to come.

I had a Nehru (Mao?) jacket made at Alba Mode in 2008 for $80.  First class and I have worn it regularly through all those years.

94/2  Phetkasem  Road (more or less dead centre of HH)

Phone (in 2008, I am reading from the label):

06-7105395 and 06-7098932

As for the green songtaew (the locals call them "rot takiab") the price increased to 15 Baht (previously 10). As to my knowledge prices for motorcycle taxis have stayed the same. They might range from 30 to 60 Baht, depending on distance.

I used to use Mr. Vicky near the Tessaban but he went back to India during COVID.  Now I use the tailor shop next to Everest restaurant behind the temple downtown.  They did a great custom pair of pants for me with a secret zipper pocket for my wallet and passport while traveling.

Hi, I had a very nice 2 piece suit made in November last year at "Romeo Boutique & Tailors" Poon Suk Road Hua Hin, ( Take Soi 59 off of Petkasem Road, the Soi that goes behind the H H Police station), when you get to the T junction with Poon Suk Rd glance right and you will see the shop almost in front of you. Nice guy, a very good price (4500thb for my suit, worn several times since).  click on the Google map link below for the address etc. Kind Regards
