Pelosi’s attacker told police he was on a ‘suicide mission,’ court filings allege

SAN FRANCISCO — The man accused of breaking into House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s home and assaulting her husband with a hammer allegedly told police he was on a “suicide mission” and had a target list of state and federal politicians as part of his effort to combat “lies” coming out of Washington.

David Wayne DePape, 42, was arraigned Tuesday afternoon in San Francisco County Superior Court, where he faced several state charges related to the attack on Paul Pelosi, including attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, elder abuse, residential burglary, false imprisonment and threatening the life of or serious bodily harm to a public official.

...

The judge ordered DePape to be held until a bail hearing can be scheduled.

Paul Pelosi’s alleged attacker indicted by federal grand jury

(CNN) -- A grand jury has returned a federal indictment charging David DePape, the man accused of violently attacking House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband in late October, with attempted kidnapping of a federal official and assault of an immediate family member of a federal official.

“If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison for the assault count and 20 years in prison for the attempted kidnapping count,” the Justice Department said in a statement Wednesday.

With the indictment, DePape is facing both federal and state charges, which include “attempted murder, residential burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, elder abuse, false imprisonment of an elder, as well as threats to a public official and their family,” according to San Francisco district attorney Brooke Jenkins.

The above referenced federal indictment indicates the San Francisco Police officers who responded to the Pelosi home were wearing their functioning body cameras at the time they encountered the suspect DePape:

"6. Moments later, at approximately 2:31 a.m., SFPD officers responded to the Pelosi Residence and two officers knocked on the front door. The two officers who approached the door had their body-worn cameras activated. The two officers opened the door to see the foyer of the Pelosi Residence, Mr. Pelosi, wearing a long-sleeved shirt, DEPAPE in shorts, running shoes and a sweatshirt, and DEPAPE and Mr. Pelosi jointly gripping a hammer."

And that the entire encounter between police and DePape lasted about 15 seconds in total.

The updated  indictment also includes a new reference to the additional targets on the alleged list that DePape had for his attacks:

"e) DEPAPE further identified another person, referred to here as “Target 1,” as “way up” on his target list, and he explained that he had a plan to use Speaker Pelosi to lure Target 1 to DEPAPE."

We were called "conspiracy theorists" for asking valid questions remember? Good to see we were not wrong. I suspected after the mid terms were out of the way and political mileage had been milked to the max by the democrats that interesting details would be made available concerning the events that made zero sense as presented.

I believe that the NBC reporter said that Depape was wearing underpants. Shorts are not the same thing as underpants.

So you make a correction without pulling whole story. Now back to who opened door.

Yes, it’s full of unsubstantiated statements from an unidentified ‘person’.

You have seen the court filings haven’t you?

I have a gut feeling the cop has been identified.

You conspiracy theorists have an enormous appetite for disappointments.

What they have is an infinite ability to adjust reality to fit their self deception.

New facts undermining their first conspiracy theory will simply result in doubling down with a newly amended version.

Let’s have the details then.

Or shall we wait for evidence and sworn testimony presented in court, your cop will surely appear for the ‘defense’, if of course he’s not abducted by aliens.

The DOJ got it wrong as to who opened door, but we have to assume what Depape was wearing is correct. Goes to show the DOJ aren't always right.

I’m not a in the least bit afraid of the truth, which is why I say skip the unattributed hearsay and wait to see the evidence and sworn testimony presented in court.

Or perhaps you believe have no need to fear the truth will come out in court.
