snoop1130
Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwon has told Thai football fans that they will be able to enjoy all World Cup games on Thai television as the Thai government will purchase the rights to do so. The World Cup begins on November 20th, 2022, and will last until December 18th as 32 teams compete for glory. Thai fans had been nervous previously due to the fact that no broadcasters had yet secured the rights for the games on television, which could have made watching the games more difficult for many viewers. Can but hope that the price goes up nearer the event and they get skinned for leaving it until the last minute 1

bamnutsak
For the previous world cup (2018) I think the broadcast situation was sorted ~ 3 months prior to the first match. Other big football events, (and I'm, not familiar with all the types), and global sporting events may have gone down to the last minute, in some cases during the regime's rule. I think the "government" is trying to coerce some commercial partners to step up and pay. In the event thay don't then the govt will pay. I think AIS would like to get the mobile streaming rights.
