Pattaya – A group of foreigners seemingly working together allegedly stole two mobile phones from a guesthouse in Pattaya.

Mrs. Siriwan Sangaroon, 43, a staffer of a guesthouse in Soi Pattaya Sai Song 9 in Nongprue, Banglamung filed a report to the Pattaya City Police Saturday (November 5th).

She told police that there were two foreigners possibly from the Middle East asking her to have a look at a room on the 3rd floor of her guest house yesterday. However, they did not book the room. They said the room was too small before they left.

She later found out that two mobile phones charging at the guest house reception counter worth 9,500 baht and 15,000 baht had disappeared.

Have to question the mentality of someone leaving the main desk to show someone a room - either that of the manager for employing not enough staff

Not the first time I have heard of such an incident.....got a camera on the reception area maybe?

Cell phone theft making the news!?

Hundreds are stolen each day in BKK alone....

Is that myth or fact?

I guess when you take a holiday or move to the LOS.  And have limited funds.  You need to do anything to survive

Foreigners coming to Thailand and stealing mobile phones? Really? How low does go? Middle Eastern foreigners as well. Guess they did not have an oil-corrupted daddy.

Just leave a sign at reception - "Please help yourself to my phone"

And some the keys for the other rooms !!!!!

More staff in a supposedly low price guesthouse?

Easy said.

Better think about investing in some security. Simple things like a locked compartment at reception.

Of course an open desk should not be left alone.

They had a camera....'til someone stole it.

No pointing; no crime.  How do we know she didn't flog the phones?

Why blame the foreigners? Anyone could have come in and stolen them while she was showing them the rooms.

No "Simply Safe fitted" ....

If the guys are on camera taking the phones should not take the police to long to find them

Surprised people don't realise CCTV cameras are  every where these

days ????

If "foreigners" weren't in the post it wouldn't be newsworthy?

I'm sure that if it is a coordinated thieving group that other businesses will also be complaining soon.

My money is on Alibaba,

Or in Thai cack!
