carlyai
I need a 12V battery charger for my deisel genset. Mainly to float charge the diesel battery. I had a great one, a CTEK MXS 5.0. Worked really well till it failed. Looking at a replacement price of around B5000 for the same unit, I was thinking of asking here if anyone can recommend a good unit at a lesser price. If not then I'll buy another CTEK MXS 5.0.
In the jungle
I wouldn't buy another CTEK. They are not cheap and both the ones I had failed. The same problem with each one; the on/off/mode switch stopped working. I use cheap ones that I bought in the UK from B&Q. They work fine. About 1200 Baht each at current exchange rates.

Pooreye
Yes if the Ctek fails its usually the switch. I brought an older one to thailand 5 years ago, and soon I had to play like crazy with the switch to turn it on. Local TV shop fixed that dirt cheap, still works today???? 1
