Do any of you house owners have pest controllers come to the house to spray on a regular basis? we live on a modern gated estate, how often is it required,if at all. Does the spray harm pets?

We have a pest control service come to our house and spray for insects on a regular basis, usually once every two months or so.  As a result, we don't have issues with roaches or ants in the house.

Termites are quite common here and we did have an infestation a couple of years ago. We used Rentokil to get rid of them. Rentokil stops by every two months to check the bait traps and inspect the house to make sure they have not returned. Rentokil is on an annual contract.

We keep the dog away from the spray while the technician is applying it and for a couple of hours afterwards. We haven't had any issues.

Same as the above, every two months for roaches, ants, and most importantly termites. Seems to work perfect for roaches and termites which is good. But we still do get ants. Welcome to living in the tropics. This is a gated single house muban. 90% of the people living here do the same, but most have not been as lucky with termites as we have been. Its all down to the company you hire.

I live in the rice fields, we don't have a service come in - rarely, but once in a while, we use a can of spray for ants.

If you are not getting infested, then you don't need to spray poison in your house. Wait and see.
