Security checks have been increased on international arrivals at airports across the country ahead of the APEC summit due at the end of this week,

 

A group calling itself  “People Stop Apec 2022” plans to set up a parallel stage during the Apec summit to air their views on Prime Minister Prayut’s policies. The group was assessing the situation after the government  announced a ban on gathering at 20 places during the summit.
 
Local politician Korn Chati-kava-nid, a former finance minister says his party  may win around 25 seats in parliament,  adding this would be sufficient to lead the formation of a new coalition government. 

 

Police in Pattaya raided an  entertainment establishment and arrested several employees after it had stayed open beyond 2am, officers also found several sachets of suspected drugs.


Police will recommend the venue be permanently closed.

 

The Thai baht has seen an increase in value this last week and now stands at around 35 baht to the dollar.

At the APEC SUMMIT IN PHNOM PENH Thai Prime minister Prayut proposed a comprehensive strategic partnership between ASEAN and the United States in the areas of economic development and climate change,


Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese talked  with Chinese Premier Li Keq-iang at the ASEAN meeting yesterday amid anticipation of a possible  summit with President Xi Jinping.
