Women's Rugby League - Defending champions Australia moved into the final of the Women's Rugby League World Cup with a resounding 82-0 victory over Papua New Guinea and England's hopes of reaching a first Women's final were dashed by a 20-6 loss to a powerful New Zealand team. Australia,who are looking for a record-equalling third World Cup triumph will play New Zealand in the final this Saturday at Old Trafford Manchester.

 

Football - WCN -  United States forward Josh Sargent is fit for the World Cup despite taking a knock in Norwich City's 2-1 home defeat by Middlesbrough. The 22-year-old went off in the 84th minute of Saturday's Championship match at Carrow Road but  Ghana will be without first-choice goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott at the World Cup after he suffered a finger in the warm-up for a League One match for Charlton Athletic at Burton on Saturday, and has been left out of the Black Stars squad for Qatar.


Twitter went into meltdown over the controversial Cristiano Ronaldo interview and Manchester United have released a press release in response saying that the club, Manchester United, notes the media coverage regarding an interview by Cristiano Ronaldo. The club will consider its response after the full facts have been established.
