What English Goodies For A Hamper?

I am wanting to post a few goodies from home to my English brother and his Thai wife. He asked me to send his favourite teabags and I will do so, but is there anything else you can suggest would be a welcome suprise for him that is not readily available in Thailand? - spices? - sauce? - marmalade? - packet mixes? Not just English cuisine but Indian, Mexican & Italian etc.

Also I would like to send a few bits and pieces for my sister in law and her family (including children) Are there any sweet treats that I can buy in the UK that are not available there? It seems silly to spend a small fortune on postage for items they can buy locally.

If there are any other bits and bobs that you think of that can't be bought in Thailand please add them to the list (toiletries? stationary?).

Do I need to do a customs declaration or similar? Are there any items I cannnot send?

And last but not least something nice for my sister-in-law. She is a mature Thai lady who I have yet to meet. What can I put in the box that is just for her?

Gummy worms & fish are always a big hit with the kids in the village. The older family members enjoy mixed nuts and butter mints. Peanut butter is also a welcomed treat.

In actual fact there are very few items from UK that are not available in Thailand. When I ask people to bring things, it is not so much not here, but the price.

Here are a few things that are expensive here and easy to send.

U.K. Tea bags.....................................available in few places

OXO cubes..........................................very rare but can get them

Tubes of Colemans Mustard..................only jars and powder here

Pkts of Birds instant custard.................not available in normal shops.

Cook in sauces (pkts) .........................not available in normal shops.

Other things that people like but are really too bulky to send, but again are available in Thailand at a price

I think you summed up what it's all about for Farangs who live here and only go the former home country occasionally. It's all about the baggage weight, what you can get in the case coming back. Personally I keep buying books that I can't get in Thailand, or they're too expensive, then when the time comes to pack the case......

Fanta Orange!! in thailand it's the real stuff I had as akid loaded with E-numbers, enough colouring to dye an Elephant orange. and more orange flavorings than a bucket load of orange stuff. And enough sugar to make Simon Cowell taste sweet!...........if the original recipe Fanta was good enough for the Nazi's in WWII it's good enuf for me..............not like that that pretend healthy sh#te they call Orange Fanta in Farangland. I have tasted piss that had more of an orange flavour in it.
