Photo by VnExpress/Thai Ha Around 2.3 tons of dead, smelly chickens were about to be processed into food products when Dong Nai police busted an illegal abattoir Wednesday night. After nights of monitoring, environmental police and veterinary authorities raided a poultry abattoir in Bien Hoa Town of the southern province owned by 44-year-old Tran Thi Ngoc Thuong. Four workers were dumping 2.3 tons of dead and smelly chicken from a truck on the abattoir floor when the raid happened. The chickens would have their feathers removed, before being shipped elsewhere for human consumption.
