Pattaya — Thai and Dutch tourists were robbed of their valuables by two unidentified thieves at a Pattaya hotel/resort early this morning, November 27th.

Pol. Capt. Sontaya Khansub from the Pattaya police station responded to a theft report at an unnamed hotel on Soi Pattaya-Naklua 20 in Banglamung, Chonburi, at 4 AM today.

The two victims, Mr. Christian F., a 37-year-old Dutch national, and another Thai female victim only identified as Ae were waiting for the police at the hotel. Mr. Christian told police that he placed 4,000 baht in cash on the table in his hotel room and went to take a shower.

The Dutch victim then came out after finishing bathing to find his cash missing and signs of someone having entered his room.

Would it have been too much for him to put a shirt on? Or did they steal that too?

Then Ae did her best impersonation of Sergeant Schultz.

Was the door locked? While unfortunate, this is a small sum of money. Time to move on.

It was unreported but Ae DID ask if there was any Strudel available.

Hmmm... I sense a scenario where A (the aforesaid female) conspired with a certain B to make it seem like an unknown C (who happens to be B) took the said valuables.

I'll take the shameless liberty of presuming that A may have intentionally left the door unlocked or even slightly ajar so that, perhaps after SMS-ing B that she and falang are about to have that post-coitus shower, B can zero in on the stash. Seems like the "thief" knew exactly where to zero in and was most likely briefed in advance.

The thief knew that the Flying Dutchman was having a shower and for him to enter the room at the exact right moment, someone in the room must have told him what was happening behind closed doors. Inside job.

I absolutely have confidence that had he left more,  it would have gone too!

What nonsense, thievery needs investigating and hopefully the culprit removed...

No worries.  Pattaya Plod's on the job; this crime will be investigated to the nth degree by the perplexed cops who will ultimately admit defeat.

I lost 4,000 baht in a bar once.

I think I drank it but I can't remember.

No streudel consumed.

Much Levenslied performed.????????

At least his friend improvised one with a table cloth.

Having been reported the news writer instructed  to rewrite events so not to tarnish the image of Pattaya.  Basically cash table was for services which don't exist in Pattaya????

Idiots. You are in a hotel, a place full of people you do not, from any country and any class of people. LOCK THE FLAMING DOOR !

I think the same... Normally things like this happen if you invite an "entertainer" to your room. It is highly unlikely that a thief enters an occupied room and has the luck to find cash on the table. And at the same time the owner is taking a shower and doesn't realise what happens.

Doesn't the hotel have CCTV ?  It will show who entered the room.  If nobody entered the room, then it's clear that the Thai g/f took it.????

And if money recovered there will probably be a "report writing fee"
